The Philadelphia area’s newest formed funk and soul supergroup, Star Kitchen, will make their debut performance at the Ardmore Music Hall this Friday November 9.

The core members of the band, bassist Marc Brownstein (the Disco Biscuits), guitarist Danny Mayer (Eric Krasno Band), keyboardist Rob Marscher (Addison Groove Project), and drummer Marlon Lewis (Lauryn Hill/John Legend) will converge on stage to take their audience on a deep improvisational journey through the funky cosmos. These four players are no strangers to delving deep into live musical performance, and with as diverse a musical background as any group can have, this night should be an unforgettable sonic experience for any music lover.

Now, as if those four players weren’t enough, the band has tapped a few extremely special guests to bring into the fold. In the spirit of musical community, the band will call on local heavy hitters vocalist Lady Alma and rapper Chill Moody, NYC saxophonist James Casey of Trey Anastasio Band, and lauded virtuosic slide guitarist Robert Randolph of Robert Randolph & The Family Band to truly take this concert to the top tier of funk.

The Ardmore Music Hall has established itself as a premiere landing spot for many nationally touring musical acts- the 600 cap rock club (historically known as the 23 East Cabaret) sits just 3 miles outside Philadelphia. Notable artists since 2014 have included George Clinton & P-Funk, The Hooters, Toots & the Maytals, Stanley Clarke, Steve Earle, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Maceo Parker, Buckethead, Robby Krieger (of The Doors), Macy Gray & many more.

Features of Ardmore Music Hall include a state-of-the-art sound system, a wide dance space, seating options, and 20+ craft beers on draught. The venue is located at 23 East Lancaster Ave, and is easily accessible by public transportation with the R-5 regional line- the Ardmore train stop drops 100 feet from the back door and runs directly from City Hall & 30th Street Station.
